Wibbly-Wobbly-Timey-Wimey

Wow, I can't believe it's been a month since my last post! WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO TIME?!?

Uh, anyway, I have a couple of finished projects. But, I can only show you one of them, because the second one is a Christmas present, and I'm not entirely certain if the intended recipient reads this blog or not.

As you can probably tell from my Ravelry page, I've been working on a hexipuff blanket for a while now...But, due to the sheer amount of time that it would take to make (over three years, if my math is correct) and a little bit of laziness, I decided that I really didn't want to complete it.

But what about the finished puffs? Do I just throw all of them away? LIKE HECK!!!

So, I took some of them, and I made them into a cushion for my sewing chair.

It's WAAAAAAY more comfortable than the slightly tattered pillow that I had been using up 'til now!

As you can see in the photo above, there is a sewing project in progress! It's my sister's, but it's still awesome! Maybe in a couple of weeks, I'll be able to convince her to post the finished project on Yarn Yetis. ;)

In closing, I would just like to show you this random cat photo I found on my iPod.

Katherine is out! PEACE!

The Yarn Yetis' Yeti

It's been a bit longer than I expected, but I've finally finished writing up the Yarn Yetis' Yeti pattern!
Gosh, that's fun to say. Yarn Yetis' Yeti.
Anyway, I have already posted the pattern to Ravelry ! Now, if you want, you can make it yourself for free!

P.S. If you have any photos, even pictures of it in progress, I would LOVE to see them!

I'm Bringing Bootie Back

I'm not sure if any of you even knew, but a few weeks ago, I finished a pair of baby booties. Somehow, I managed to completely forget about them until today ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.  BUT AREN'T THEY ADORABLE?!?

But everything else I finished this week! Including this baby bunny hat!I actually changed this pattern quite a bit, because I didn't check my gauge (a cautionary tale to all of you beginner crafters!). So, it isn't quite the same as in the pattern, but it's pretty close!

Then, last week, I think, I ripped out all of the blue variegated yarn that I had used and turned it into a dog sweater (I didn't really like it as part of the blanket). After that, I used an entire skein of Red Heart SuperSaver in purple and bound it off.
Also, before I even started this blanket, I decided that I was going to make it in all of the colors of the rainbow (ROY G BIV), because I'm a little bit OCD like that. :P

Then, there is another cute headband.

I also whipped up this earflap hat in a day!

Plus, this adorable little shark hat (I almost typed Shrek the first time. Nope, Nope, Nope! I'm not opening that door! lol)!

1-2-3- Who Wants To Model Near A Tree?

Oh, man. I have been working on a ridiculous amount of items! I also may or may not have forgotten to add one of them to Yarn Yetis. Hmm...
Though I may be mildly forgetful when it comes to posting about what I create, I- Yeah, that's it.

First up is a crocheted headband! This was SO easy to make, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Then, here are some cotton potholders that I improvised. You can find a similar pattern here.

Then, I knitted some gloves from the newest issue of Knitscene. I changed them a little bit by adding an inch to the length.

Next, I crocheted this hat, which I absolutely love! I managed to get my sister Emily to be my model with a lot of threatening/ bribery (just kidding, she likes trying on all of my projects! :P).

It took me finishing yet another hat for me to realize that all of these projects were in the same color scheme. Oops. ;)

While "on set", Emily had great fun reenacting The Lion King with my yeti. Which brings us to my next finished object:

The Yarn Yetis Yeti! I finally finished designing him and his cute little sweater!

Keep watching Ravelry, because I may post the pattern for him in a few days!

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING?

I'll tell you what it is.

It's 42.

But besides that, it is crafting. Lots, and lots, and lots, and lots of crafting. I mean, if I had worked out as much as I crafted the past two weeks, I would be ridiculously fit! *laughs* *cries*

I'm going to do this post a little bit differently than any of my previous ones. Since I have SO MANY finished projects, I'm not going to link them at the bottom of the page, I'm just going to link them with their photo.

But, enough about my blog. It's time to talk about my finished projects now!

This little dog sweater was so fast to finish! The pattern stated that it took six hours to make, but I made the medium, and I probably finished it in four, maybe five, constant hours of work! By the way, I hope y'all appreciate this picture, because Corky DID NOT want to have his picture taken. He wanted a belly rub. LOL.

This gender neutral scarf was crocheted in a chevron pattern using Yarn Bee Effervesce! It's so soft!

This headband was knitted, while the flower was crocheted. By the way, I just realized that I don't know what pattern I used for any of these headbands or the flowers. Hmm... I found most of them on Ravelry, I think...

This headband and flower were crocheted using Red Heart Super Saver.

As was this headband! (Guess who's almost got no acrylic yarn! Uh, huh, this girl right here!)

This headband was knitted using I Love This Yarn! and it's oh so squishy!

This hat was made using a *gasp* popular pattern on Ravelry. I know. I sicken myself sometimes. ;P

This scarf was originally an infinity scarf, but I made it into an actual scarf, so that I could use up both of the skeins that I bought! It was made using Yarn Bee Tender Touch.

And, last but not least, I finished this LOVELY mesh scarf! I made it using Yarn Bee Princess (sadly, now discontinued). Don't the little chickens really just enhance this photo? ;P

Fluffy Fabulousness

     GUESS WHAT?!

            ...

     Have you finished guessing yet?

     Okay, good.
     I finished a blanket!

IT'S SO FLUFFY!!! Seriously, this thing is about as soft as a baby unicorn. To you underprivileged few who haven't ever felt a baby unicorn, it's a lot like a bunny.
You know, this blanket only took me about three weeks to complete, which is probably a world record somewhere. I'm glad I chose to make a simple pattern with the fluffy yarn, because if I'd done cables, there is no way that they would've shown up clearly!
I used a (sadly) now discontinued Hobby Lobby yarn called "Riot Eyelash", and I think that it completely "makes" the blanket.

Lately, I've Just Been Sockupied. Y'know?

This project took way longer than I expected. Apparently, I'm a super slow knitter. *crying*
But... I'm done now! So, here are my cabled socks!

*gasp* Aren't they BEAUTIFUL!?! You can't tell from the picture, but the yarn is sparkly. The sparkliness throws me over the top, man. I'm completely a crow, in that respect.

I love the sparklies.

Lovey Dovey is Owl I Talk About

Soooo, for this title, I was trying to think of a way to make a title that rhymed with owl and lovey without being too long. There's the rub: without being too long. I probably sat in front of this computer for ten minutes thinking of something awesome to write.

Meh. It's the thought that counts, right? ;P

This li'l baby was made using (ALMOST THE LAST OF MY) Red Heart Super Saver! It's basically a big blanket square with a squishy owl face. It only took me about two days to finish!

Boom, Boom, Fishy, Fishy Three is Done!

YEAH! I finished the third fish! It's so cute and tiny!
Anyway, this pattern is super easy. It's fun. By the time I finished the first fish, I could've probably made the second and third fish without looking at the instructions! (I didn't do that, but it's a nice thought.) ;)

One Fish, Two Fish-

Like I said a couple of days ago, I've been working on some little goldfish for my booth. By the time this blog post goes up, I'll be done crocheting the third and final goldfish, but right now, I just have two.
I'm going to start off by saying that they are super easy to make! It's pretty much instant satisfaction, with one jumping off of the hook every day.
My only problem is: I'm going to have about one third of a skein of this bright orange yarn once I'm done with the third goldfish.
WHAT THE HECK AM I GOING TO DO WITH THIS ORANGE YARN?!? Feel free to give me ideas, because, currently, I have none.

Here is fishy numero uno curled up with Artemis, my kitten.

This is fish *whispers* hashtag two, fresh off of my hook. And, contrary to popular belief, I'm not holding him with my foot. ;)

Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat, Puppy Dog...

"My cat looks like a shoe," was the first thing I said to my mom when I finished knitting its body.
"Yes. Yes, it does," Mom replied.

And, I've got to say, it DID look like a shoe. A pumpkin colored shoe for someone with REALLY wide feet. *gag*
But, once I attached the whiskers to the cat's face, and gave it some button eyes, it looked a lot more like a cat.

It looks kinda like a cat that has a spider on its face, but maybe that's just me. Anyway, it's cute, it's squishy, and it will be getting some goldfish companions pretty soon. ;P

Forest Park Cowl

Let's be clear on one thing.
I had no intention to make a billion cowls this year.
     Really.
But, sometimes, destiny (or my hyperactive knitting needles; you decide) has a different plan.
I saw this beautiful pattern on Ravelry and was just like, "WHAT?!?" to my cat while he looked discouragingly at me, like he always does. Obviously, since I was so star-struck, I had to make it.

Believe it or not, but there is actually something even better about this cowl than it just being fabulous!
*leans in closer to whisper* I used some more of my Red Heart stash yarn.

NOM NOM a Straight Needle Hat

This hat was actually an experiment. I've never knitted a hat flat before, so this was something I wanted to try!
It was marvelously easy, and it was a nice break from the somewhat more difficult cabled socks I'm working on!

Okay, so I'm still undecided about one thing, though. I have JUST ENOUGH yarn to make a pompom for the top. Should I do it or not?

Love, Happiness, and a Harmony Shawl

This shawl was super fun to make! The pattern was so easy to memorize and it only took me three days and one skein of Red Heart (With Love)!

My lovely model is my younger sister Hannah, who had just gotten out of the shower before this picture was taken. :)

Bonus Picture: This is a picture of my kitten, Artemis. He was sleepy, and decided to sit on the shawl while I attached the fringe!

The Celtic Fires of My Heart Burn Bright and This Title Makes No Sense

This pattern was made using some more of my lovely Caron stash yarn (my stash is getting SO CLOSE TO EMPTY! *scream*). And, I've got to say, if I wasn't going to sell this hat, I would want to keep it and wear it as my own. Honestly, I love the cable pattern!

I made it pretty quickly; it only took me a couple of days! I wasn't super sold on the crown, but you get what you pay for, and this pattern is free. ;)

Red, White, and... No, Just Red.

I have completed another project (you're going to see this sentence A LOT for the next few months)!
So, this one is a broomstick lace cowl by Drops Design Studio. It was super easy to crochet up, and it only took me about a day to finish!

I used some more of my Red Heart yarn, so this counts toward my New Years resolution (to de-stash all of my acrylic)!

We're Going On A Bear Hunt

So, for those of you who don't know, I have been getting ready for the Texian Market Days at the George Ranch (mainly just boring email stuff involving getting approval for a booth). Buuuuut, I have also been KNITTING ready (Haha, you're so pun-ny, Katherine!)

I'm going to be selling the Camas hat, among other things (that I'm not going to tell you about yet. BAHAHAHAHA!), as well as this adorable (and so squishy!) bear.

By the way, my computer stopped working, so if the font changes, just know that it's the Blogger app and not some weird form of art by me. ;)

This bear is knit with the Magic Loop method, and has BEAR-ly any seaming!

Camas Hat

I finished this Camas hat in three days. That's probably a record of the slowest I've ever knitted a hat, but I do have an excuse.

     The yarn hurt my finger.

     For real.

As all of you know, this year is the year I vowed to de-stash ALL of my old (and mostly acrylic) yarn. So, I pulled out a big pink skein of Red Heart Supersaver and started to work.

AAAAAH! THE AGONY! [insert dramatic music here]

Despite my pain and growing dislike for the yarn,- no, one can never truly hate yarn- I prevailed. And I have a fabulous hat to show for it. :)
