The seed stitch (this is the same as the British moss stitch) is very easy and gives a nice texture to a knitted garment. It is just knitting your purl stitches and purling your knitted stitches.
To begin, cast on however many stitches you want. I did ten.
Follow this pattern: knit 1 *(purl 1, knit 1). Repeat from * until the end of your row.
Turn the work and follow the pattern again.
After a few rows, your work will look like this.
