A Curtain's A Curtain, No Matter How Small

     I was in the midst of packing for a trip to Arkansas when I came to a horrible realization: my five bags weren't enough to hold all of my projects. *scream of panic, horror, and general despair*

     So I grabbed some old curtain fabric from Mom's stash (she has a lot of fabric, okay!) and got to sewing.

     Basically, I just made the same type of bag as the Trippy Planets Bag, except it's bigger, I made straps, and added two pockets to both the front and inside.

      "It's the same, but different!" should totally be my tagline on Google+.

     I'm not sure why I made it so large (I was only making my dog, Corky, a sweater), but I think this'll be useful for projects the size of baby blankets.

Organization Was Probably A Good Idea

     I have a lot of circular knitting needles.

     I do.

     And I am proud of this.

     But... All of my needles falling out of their plastic box got pretty annoying...

     So, I browsed the glorious YouTube and found a video on how to make a needle case. I can tell you quite truthfully, my life has not been the same since! Okay, well, that might not entirely be true, but my needles have definitely been more organized!

     I used up ALL of Mom's red and checkered stash fabric to make this, and I am definitely in love! I made two pockets on the inside instead of one, so I have twice the storage space for all of my needles. You can just barely see the outlines of the needles in the photo above, but they're there!

Trippy Planets Project Bag

     This bag (I'm lovin' the name I chose for it! lol) was made with some fabric left over from some curtains my mom made once. I had to use some wooden handles because Mom didn't quite have enough fabric for me to be able to sew handles.

     I'm just telling you now, I am very much a beginner at sewing, so my lines aren't particularly straight. I had a good deal of fun making it, though! And it is going to be perfect to hold my Kroy Sock!

Socktastrophe

     As some of you know, I have been working on A TON of projects lately. At least two of them were sewing projects that I only used YouTube videos as basic guidelines for what I made. I'm debating whether or not I am going to put these projects on here or not... I think I probably will, but feel free to tell me what you think in the comment section below!

     What I'm going to show today is one Kroy sock. I haven't made the second one yet because one skein wasn't quite enough for just one sock, so I have to buy more yarn (as if this is a problem!).

     I used 2.75mm DPNs and Kroy Sock yarn in the Rusty Stripes colorway.

Climbing the Diamond Ladder [Very Slowly]

     This project was designed for the purpose of holding ALL of my earrings (I have every pair I own -besides the pair in my ears ;P- in the picture below). Previously, I had kept them in the Claire's bag that they came in, which wasn't very pretty.

     The funny thing is, I had actually designed a chart for this pattern over a month ago. The frame has been sitting on my desk with the yarn that I intended to use with it ever since then. 

     Wow! I am really good at procrastinating! *high fives self*

10 Broomsticks

     This cowl pattern I'm about to share with you was quite the adventure! You see, I have a lot of partial skeins in my stash (almost all of them were loving donations from my sisters ;) ).

     My new year's resolution (I ACTUALLY HAD ONE THIS YEAR! Be impressed! Lol) was that I would try to get rid of ALL of my acrylic stash yarn before I started buying new yarn. This resolution was a serious mistake. Anyway, I'm still going at it, and I WILL BEAT THIS!

     I'm not sure what brand this yarn is (probably some Red Heart), but this is what I used to crochet up the cowl.

     I'll admit it, I am not a fan of the colors. But, I think it turned out about as well as I could reasonably expect.

     It ended up not being quite as large as I had intended it, because I ran out of yarn *hyperventilating*, so I used some black yarn and joined both ends together, mimicking a granny square join I saw on Pinterest.

     This is my adoptive sister Victoria. I made this cowl for her birthday and she has no idea. She just thinks that I'm having her model another one of my designs! :)

I Have Fish Hair

     I have made a second fish hat! This is probably a bit of a surprise, because, normally, I make a pattern once and then I move on to something else. I knitted up this second one for a woman who saw Zachary's hat (the blue and green one) and loved it!

     I was at Padre Island for a few days last week, so I had to wash all of the sand out of the hat before I put it in the bag to give to her (I would've washed it anyway, but the sand made it more necessary).

     I still find these hats hilarious! ;)
