How to: Single Crochet Join

As I started mending this blanket (as you can see below, I'm not done yet), I realized that I haven't posted in a while. This got me thinking about the way I'm joining it! *lightbulb*
So, I am going to show how to single crochet the granny squares together.

With two granny squares...
    (1) Insert your hook into two stitches across from each other.

    (2) Yarn over and pull it through both stitches.

    (3) Yarn over and pull it through the stitch and repeat.

Now, the rest of the work will be exactly the same with one difference. For step 3, there will be two stitches to pull the yarn through.

This join will make a ridge.
