How to: Zig Zag Join

First off, I'm going to say that I don't actually know if "Zig Zag Join" is the name of this method of joining. That doesn't really matter, but I just thought you should know. :)

To begin, you will need two squares (granny squares are great for this) with the sides facing each other.

Make a slip knot around your crochet hook.

Place your crochet hook through the bottom loop of the first stitch on the lower square.

Move your yarn beneath your work (see photo below).

Yarn over, and pull it through both of the loops on your hook.

Push your crochet hook through the bottom loop of the first stitch on the upper square.

With your yarn below your work, yarn over.

Pull the yarn over through both of the loops on your hook.

Continue repeating these steps until you have joined both squares. Eventually, your join will look like this on the front.

This is what it looks like from the back.

Notes: I used this join with both the Windsor Toddler Sweater and the Stashbuster Blanket.
